Riyadh: The Islamic Development Bank Group (IsDB) is set to hold its 2024 Annual Meetings and Golden Jubilee here, from April 27-30, under the Patronage of Custodian of Two Holy Mosques King Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, according to a IsDB news release.
The event is held under the theme “Cherishing our Past, Charting our Future: Originality, Solidarity, and Prosperity”. Deputizing for the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, Governor of Riyadh Province Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud will attend the celebration commemorating 50 years of fostering sustainable socio-economic development in IsDB member nations and Muslim communities in non-member nations.
According to the statement, Saudi Minister of Finance and Chairman of IsDB Group’s Board of Governors Mohammed Aljadaan said that the annual meetings are an important platform to discuss ways to enhance cooperation among member nations, achieve sustainable and comprehensive development in Islamic nations, and transform their economies sustaina
ble and diversified, capable of overcoming crises.
Aljadaan also said that Saudi Arabia holds a distinguished position globally, being one of the leading nations in hosting and sponsoring important international meetings and conferences, adding that the Kingdom will continue to support development programs and projects through the IsDB Group, thus contributing to the progress, prosperity, and sustainable future of the region and the world.
Chairman of the IsDB Group Dr. Muhammad Al Jasser said that the relationship between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and IsDB Group is a model of strategic partnership, and that the bank has benefited from the expertise and resources of the Kingdom, which acted as a role model in driving sustainable and comprehensive growth in many member countries.
Al Jasser added that IsDB Group’s annual meetings this year came at a crucial time when the world is facing multiple crises, foremost among them climate change and economic uncertainties that led to an increase in global infla
tion.
The IsDB Group’s annual meetings will also include the Governors’ Plenary Session and the Governors’ Roundtable Meeting where the Islamic nations’ most pressing economic challenges and future opportunities are going to be discussed.
The meetings will be accompanied by a series of seminars, sessions, and other events attended by experts from governments, international and regional organizations, the private sector, academia, and civil society.
