YMU offers condolences on martyrdom of colleague Alaa Al-Hams

The Yemeni Media Union condemned the Zionist enemy’s continued deliberate targeting of media professionals and media crews working in occupied Palestine since October 7, 2023 AD, the most recent of whom was our colleague Alaa Al-Hams, who died from her wounds as a result of her home being directly bombed by Zionist enemy forces on December 3rd.

The Union explained in a statement, a copy of which was received by Saba, that with the martyrdom of Alaa Al-Hams, the number of journalist martyrs has risen to 126 martyrs since the start of the genocidal war on the Gaza Strip… expressing condolences to the family of our colleague Al-Hams and all media professionals in Palestine.

He stressed that the crimes committed by the Israeli enemy forces in the Gaza Strip went beyond war crimes and are considered crimes of genocide. The international community and all organizations working in the field of rights and freedoms must stand seriously in the face of these crimes that target security personnel, journalists, and ev
erything that is protected under international conventions that guarantee their right to protection life and the criminalization of targeting or harming it.

The Media Union praised the role of the resistance media, especially the Palestinian resistance media, which had and still has a major role in exposing the crimes and violations committed by the Zionist enemy machine in the Gaza Strip and in the Rafah and Khan Yunis regions currently… stressing the importance of the unity of the resistance media front, so that the aggression against the Palestinian people stops and Zionist criminals are tried through international courts, as the crime does not have a statute of limitations.
