Abu Dhabi: The United Arab Emirates, represented by the Ministry of Interior, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Europol, the European Union Agency. This agreement aims to establish a secure communication line between the two parties, fostering improved security and police cooperation.
According to Emirates News Agency, the MoU is part of a robust relationship and strategic partnership between the UAE and Europol, specifically targeting security and the fight against transnational organised crime. The primary goal of the agreement is to create a secure technical infrastructure for exchanging security and police information, thereby enhancing the capability of both parties to combat organized crime effectively.
The Ministry of Interior stated that this memorandum is a strategic move aligning with the UAE’s vision to fortify its international partnerships. The initiative is designed to build an integrated security system that relies on expertise exchange and the latest technologies to bolster societal security and stability.
